Holiday Card 2017

I hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday! Let's make the world a better place in 2018...

The card features the triskelion, Celtic symbol for progress, personal growth and improvement.

I did not think I would get a card done this year but I got an urge to draw a unicorn!

Cao Chong Weighs an Elephant on NSTA Trade Book List and Best STEM Book of 2018 List

I am so excited that the book I illustrated for Arbordale Publishing, Cao Chong Weighs an Elephant written by Songju Ma Daemicke is an NSTA Outstanding Trade Book, a list coordinated with the Children's Book Council and National Science Teachers Association.

The book was really a delight to illustrate. It is an engaging story and I loved researching costume and architecture for it's ancient Chinese setting.



UPDATE: It also just confirmed as a 2018 Mathical Honor Book and 2018 Notable Social Studies Trade Book

SCBWI and Books By the Banks

I am doing an SCBWI talk 7-8:30pm at Upper Arlington Main Library in Columbus tomorrow (October 24th). If you are in the area, stop by and say hi! It is open to the public!

Recently found out that the book I illustrated for Holly Arnold Kinney, owner of The Fort, a landmark restaurant in Colorado, about her family's wonderful pet bear, Sissy is a finalist for both the Colorado Book Awards and the Spur (Western Writers of America) Awards!
