 I recently did a book signing event with the author of Habitat Spy at River Read Books in Binghamton, New York.

It was great fun and I hope to do more in the future. Thanks to the bookstore for a great event!

T-Shirt Design for my Aunt's Birthday

I mentioned on the Cincinnati Illustrators Blog that I designed these shirts for my Aunt's birthday party. Here is most of the family in the shirts at dinner the night before at a great Chinese restaurant. (Their clams in black bean sauce are especially good.)

More Wordsworth and the Dragon

 

We added a new banner and look to the Wordsworth and the Dragon blog.

Also, First look at Princess Rho

Princess Rho is described as dressing plainly without the traditional "princess" trappings. She has a long braid, but this sketch does not show it.

New Blog! Wordsworth the Dragon

I have started doing some sketching on this wonderful book Scotti Cohn has written called Wordsworth and the Dragon.

My favorite non-human character is the Dragon Dash. He actually has a dash of the dragon from Grendel.

As far as humans, here is my first sketch of the main character Wordsworth on his Cavabok. I have painted Springboks before (and spronking Springboks), bit this was more pony-like. I wanted him to be more solid like a pony than the slender gazelle look. This could be the new unicorn! Looking at my most recent sketch, I may add some gazelle markings to add a little wildness.

Sneak Peek: Cover Sketch Approved!

My next book for Sylvan Dell is called A Warm Winter Tail written by Carrie Pearson.

Just got the cover sketch approved. It is a wrap around and I will have the final soon.

 There is a quiet serenity around snow scenes. I always enjoy painting them.
