Write-Up on WGUC blog

Even though the workshop is sold out, I will have books and mini-palettes there for sale and will be signing books at 3:30.

Nice write-up on the WGUC website. Mostly about the PLAZA workshop on Saturday and my show at Clermont College.

Interview for NKU

NKU has been working for a while to have an animation program.

This fall, the major is an offering from the school. I am excited to have my fall class about sequential illustration as a part of the curriculum!

I have worked with NKU since 2013 and really enjoy working with the students and faculty.

I recently did an interview about the new program.

3 Questions with the CBC

I recently did the Children's Book Council's 3 Questions series. They let me make up the questions so I asked around to see what people wanted to know about what I do!

So much fun!

Profile on Voyage Chicago

Chicago is one of my favorite cities to visit and sketch in so I was thrilled when Voyage Chicago contacted me to do a profile. They mostly write about metro artists, but occasionally cover regional ones.

I should also mention that my awesome author Songju Ma Daemicke (Cao Chong Weighs and Elephant) lives in Chicago.

Thanks to my friend Jeb Brack for the referral!

The book I illustrated for Bloomsbury written by Anna Claybourne was in a supplement for The Guardian featuring the Best New Children's Books Summer 2014.

Here is a scan of the page. They used one of my favorite spreads.

Books by the Banks Poster Unveiling and Article

Miffy and the Cincinnati Enquirer Article. When I opened the section to read the article, she immediately plopped on the paper and refused to move and nipped at me when I tried to coax her.

Thursday, September 8

7:00pm - 8:30pm Joseph Beth Booksellers

Celebrate the kick-off of the 2011 Books By the Banks, Cincinnati USA’s Book Festival with a panel discussion and a rare poster signing opportunity with acclaimed illustrators, including this year’s artist, Christina Wald. Also on hand will be Will Hillenbrand, C.F. Payne, Ryan Ostrander, and John Maggard discussing their work and the illustrations they created exclusively for the annual Books By the Banks posters. Since the book festival's inauguration in 2007, the posters – now considered unique collectors' items – have captured the essence of what Books by the Banks means to the community.

Hope to see you there!

Sometime later this week I will post some sketches (including the unused concept).

Imagine FX-Issue 55

The Imagine FX (Issue 55) that just came out has a showcase page of my work. It is a cool issue with a focus on Clash of the Titans and a special section with original sketches for the first movie by Ray Harryhausen. We had a discussion at this week's illustrator lunch about how Harryhausen as a concept artist is not usually how you think of him, but he clearly is.

Check it out. It will be on US newstands in a couple weeks.
